Free Track: Darwin Deez

You need a partner for this song...

First hold Hands, bend those achey knees then take a hearty breathe and bounce like a unbearable child on every mind-altering sugar fix possible. After you’ve drain the rushing blood from your ears, you should hear the sweet chiming vocals of the geekily named Darwin Deez...

This song is clearly beyond cute. With LA inspired lyrics of drinking Starbucks, shopping with together and falling for his bird after one week, this dude is in loved-up Heaven. Being wooed with overpriced coffee is a sure-thing right?

Let’s hang on a minute, listen to the lyrics, and bells begin to ring. Unhealthy relationship!! What is wrong with this scenario?

1. The girl “is mine” after one week. Cling-on.

2. He drives "1000 miles an hour". (That’s not even possible!)

3. She is a radar-detector, maybe not even human. Ew, inter-species sex.

4. If radar-detector is just a metaphor for her over protectiveness. Would you want a gf who stops you from being liberated and driving fast. Boring.

5. They drink coffee together. They shop together. Do you they have any other friends?

Despite the psycho-love ties, this song is pretty sweet, you’d easily see it on 90210 while those kids are making out, shopping, buying Starbucks...

LAPTOP or my LIFE? (Warning: SS Misery)

I would do anything for you but I won't do that...?

Considering I don't have the best immune system in the world, when faced with burly storm weather I'm the first to cover, hide and scream for Jesus to stop crying his big rainy tears...

After heading home from working at the office with broken boiler (cue the cat being worn as a scarf), I thought the more efficient way to not mentally scar the kitty would be to piggy piggy run home with the laptop in toe and work my heart out from there. SS will always beat the weather...

Clearly God is getting on his old years, as after many drips of rain, another thundering shower smacked me down like a dirty urinary infection and (here's the dramatic bit) being my disgusting try hard self my laptop was only covered with useless American Apparel bag!

My shoe gently weeps...

The drastic measure involved running (thus breaking a heel), removing my velvet coat to save the great hench-top with its insulation and feel the dripping self-pity slide down my face in cold satisfaction.

In that split second, I discovered the realization of my pathetic state - I would happily give up my health, my made up face, my vintage shoes and my LIFE to save my 4 year old Dell Inspirion.TAKE THAT NATURE...

Now I cleaned myself up, what on earth was the moral of this self-centred story??

NOT Buy a better laptop bag.

NOT Wear better shoes.

and NOT Sacrifice the laptop.

My Answer: If Nature hates you, you are screwed.

YOUR STEREO FEELS LIKE CRYING...

Oh Dawson, let it out with STEREOMOOD

First take a moment to hail online (legal) music streaming:

(Clap Clap Clap Clap - I tried to upload actual sound effects, but alas, big internet fail AGAIN)

Last Fm, Pandora, Spotify....and now StereoMood.

Before you render the online program for hormonal Bon Iver listening women, this website is so so damn amazing I want to eat my super pretentious hat. Not only does it select moods for you, it also selects some real decent tracks attached to the mood. Saving all the trouble of the quirky listener to furiously go through Itunes, make your own playlist and try to retain some pride by naming it something effortlessly unique aka "Music to Eat Meat To". Not fun.

Drawback...the lists don't ever change. So after you've had your go with one mood, might get a bit monotonous...

I urge you and plead you with my emotive words to try it yourself, you can even search what you wish, but here's some cracking moods to get jamming to:

MAKE LOVE: Bone your lover knowing they are thinking 'Dirty Old Man'. Thank you Lulu. Thank you.

FEEL LIKE CRYING: Wait. Juliette Lewis 'Suicide Dive Bombers' is also on the "Make Love" playlist. First they call it Make Love and now they want you to cry while having sex. Maybe this is for the sentimentals...

FOREPLAY: Yeah, now this is where its at, Notorious B.I.G. gets diiirty with 'I'm Fucking You Tonight'. Woo for-play...

DREAMY: Possibly one of the best play-lists, The XX, Sufjan Stevens, Pearl Jam and....What. The. Hell. Juliette Suicidal Lewis again??? (Cough) sellout (Cough)

VINTAGE: The old school rockers, some dead, some still trying to "live the dream". If only there was program to make them into vintage apparel I'd gladly wear that hot shit.

Now I would give you more moods but the sodding website loaded way longer than I cared. But still, go see for yourselves!

Some Pretty Circus Seal

After hours of enduring the pissing rain and gusty wind that almost froze my spinal bone, I stumbled upon this graffiti just off Carnaby Street.
A circus seal getting ready for the show, isn't it? Vanity, O Vanity! Thanks to the rain, this is the most fucked-up snapshot I could manage.

For those you haven't got it, this is a new work by BANKSY, an pseudo-anonymous, Bristol-born street artist. I did an article about him a while ago. I'm soon going back for a proper look at the seal.

BANKSY I <3 YOU XXX
